MultiSusty guerrilha’s day in PORTUGAL!

 At 26^th April of 2012, the organization AGORA AVEIRO organized the multisusty’s day in Aveiro, Portugal. 

During this day we spent all time near de ria (canal) doing some activities about how to save water and how we can have fun and leisure next to it. Besides that, and because the sustainability is connected, we also implement different workshops about recycling and reuse of garbage to create new objects.

The day started at 10 am with laughter therapy in the typical boats of Aveiro (the moliceiro). After, we had an exhibition and workshops to build objects from garbage. At the same time and during all day we had a huge fish monster made of garbage and some teasers with sentences like: “The person you love is 70% of water”; “Have you thought about how many liters of water have you have spent in your whole life?”; “All the junk that you spent so far is a monster that is turning against you”.

It was a great and sustainable day in our city! The citizens, the volunteers… everyone was able to be more awared about something very special, like: HOW TAKE CARE OF WATER AND OF OUR PLANET!!

rebuild waste into new items - FAIRbund e. V. & Nachbarschaftsgärten in Leipzig, Germany

Remi, the volunteer of Nachbarschaftsgärten e.V. in Leipzig decided to contribute to the project Multisusty within the area of waste-rebuilding. Right now we are thinking how would it be possible to make a workshop on the topic.
Until then we will post some pictures on the works done until now by Remi and other volunteers in the communcal garden.

Organization Agora Aveiro: MultiSusty in Aveiro, Portugal

Every Monday we meet to plan this initiative. The volunteer and partners group is getting bigger. We have some structured ideas and we are still deciding how we will implement others. Beside sensitizing citizens for the ria preservation, we also would like to aware for water wasting and pollution. We plan to have a spot where people can find some tips and tricks about how to save water and how to reuse garbage.

Just back from Holloko, Hungary, and the portuguese group from the Association Agora Aveiro already meat to plan the next guerrilla action concerning to MultiSusty.

The open space that we had about environmental awareness, during the Contact Making Seminar organized by Egyesek, allowed us to have new ideas and future initiatives for our organization.

Here in Aveiro we have wonderful canals, which we call “ria”. This is really peculiar in our country and we would like people to take good care of it. But “ria” can also mean “smile”, so we will play a bit with words and create the guerrilla action number 4: “Ria com a Ria” or “Smile with the Ria”J

Multisusti is an international cooperation between organisations that promotes sustainability and environmental awareness on a local level.
